Carol – OOAK Doll [Auction]

One-of-a-kind collector’s piece. I will not be creating any replicas of this doll or character.

Finished in March 2019, she has:

• a complete reroot in a blend of two shades of blonde doll-grade nylon hair
• a realistic faceup replicating Carol’s makeup in the film, using high-quality materials
• handsewn clothes (Carol’s costume in the department store scene):
  – purple “Dolman sleeve” dress with waist-tie detail
  – lined faux-fur coat; the fabric was prepared and coloured to imitate the golden sable Carol wears
  – coral scarf and “beret” hat (fixed to the head with pins but removable if desired)
• the doll’s original shoes, painted to resemble Carol’s
• a golden necklace and gold-and-pearl earrings

The doll has five-point articulation and arms bent at the elbows.

Please note: The faceup is designed to give an “illusion” of the actress’s likeness and is more effective in certain lighting conditions than others. The main photos show the doll in this way. The final photo shows her face in more generic front-on light. The ideal display light for this doll is a fairly direct top-down light (most rooms and display cases should therefore suit her!)

She will come safely packaged in a sturdy box with a (re)birth certificate.
